Alien - Sonia Semon, Mean Marineing Machine

And now for a blue-collar scifi trifecta - Alien, the RPG. This character will be Sonia Semon, and I think I want her to be a more serious, meaner version of Aidan Zharkov. She is a stocky woman, with defined muscles, red hair in a crew cut, and a scar running up the right side of her face and head. She rarely smiles and carries a giant chip on her shoulder.

For starters, I choose her Career as Colonial Marine. Then there are 14 points to distribute among Attributes, with final scores between 1 and 5. Let’s do Strength 5, Agility 4, Wits 2, and Empathy 3. Then there are 12 skills, and 10 points to distribute, with a maximum of 3 in her career skills, and 1 in everything else.. mmhhh… Ranged Combat 3, Close Combat at 2, and at 1 Heavy Machinery, Mobility, Observation, Stamina, and Survival. She also gets three Talents to choose one from, essentially special little tricks. Overkill it is, which means if she ever blows a Stress test and enemies are around, she starts attacking relentlessly. Talk about working out your issues, it fits my image of her.

Her Stress level starts at 0, which isn’t a surprise. She also has Health 5, equal to Strength. And Sonia has her scar for a reason - she is a decorated hero, and her chip on the shoulder comes from her need to live up to her reputation at all times. Which is her personal Agenda. Her Signature Item is the bullet that was dug out of her skull, which she keeps on a chain around her neck. Once play starts, she’d have to choose a Buddy and a Rival among the other PCs.

Finally, I roll a d6 * 100 $ for cash (400 $), and choose a few starting items from a list. She will start with a M56A2 Smart Gun (remember the gun Vasquez used in Aliens), a M314 Motion Tracker, M3 Personnel Armor, and a Deck of Cards. All done, and ready to face whatever the GM might throw her way.

This was rather fast, and I do like the MYZ engine that Alien employs. Really, all three of these games are appealing.

And the sheet is here.
