What will happen here?

As one of many roleplayers who have more core books than sense, I will participate in his year's Character Creation Challenge, as outlined by TardisCaptain. In their post, they also link to the thread on RPG.net via which I found out this exists. Very cool idea, and it will give me an excuse to read and make characters for a few games I had no opportunity to play with so far. I will try my best to keep to a character a day; since I do have a life outside of gaming I will sometimes cheat a bit by preparing characters in advance. I also plan to jot down a few thoughts on some of the systems while posting each character.

Overall I plan to go with more lightweight systems. Expect characters for various Tiny D6 games, for example, an amazing line of games that I was only able to play in two sessions so far (in the form of Tiny Taverns). I doubt I will find the time for making characters for games of yore, where making a character could take several hours. If a case comes up where character generation is a bit complex, I will use (and link to) character generators if available. Beyond these concerns, I do not have specific plans.

Oh, one important thing – I like horror games. It is possible that I will flip on age restriction on the blog if specific games come up. I will still keep things as light as possible, but if I feel like a character might be a bit intense, I will do my best to put appropriate hurdles between that content and your monitor. To be honest, I do not expect that to be necessary, but I want to be prepared just in case.

Will I finish the challenge? Who knows. I guess we will know on the 1st of February.

Edit: Have a summary in two parts (1,2), and a link to all posts tagged for it.
